Education Promotion For Children and Youth

A better tomorrow is created with knowledge base. Without education there are no great leaders, no community advocates, no lawyers and no great nations. Being educated gives a person confident to face any situation. In the past, Education was offered to sons of chiefs and to male children. Currently, Everyone has access to education from physical classes to online classes. Promoting education to young kids should be encouraged. We are in the world driven by technology and we need to ensure education is accessible, engaging and effective for all children and youth.

Ways to promote education to children and youths.

1. Employing the use of technology in learning: As digital tools have revolutionized education, we need to use them appropriate to support the spread of education. Children understand first through music, video games, animations and tv series. In order for them to master the skills there should be educative music, video games, animations and tv series but also there should be highly use of E-Learning platforms, online sessions and education apps.
2. Promoting reading culture: Children and youths should be encouraged to read different articles, newspaper and books. by so doing we are going to create a generation of scripts. Most of the secretes are hidden in books. Reading many books helps to gain new ideas.
3. Encouraging active learning methods: Teachers and parents should encourage supportive learning for children and youth like engaging them in group discussion, debates, practical learning, creative arts and peer learning.
4. Support inclusive learning: Inclusive education means ensuring equality in learning without discriminating those with disabilities, from poor families or those coming from minority groups. For this to be possible, teachers should be trained to teach students with disabilities, providing learning materials from different language, offering scholarship and different learning programs to children and youth.
5. Involving parents and communities in learning: Parents and community members should stand at the frontline to advocate for children’s education. Providing full support to children means a lot to them and this will act as the sign of appreciation to them. Most people perform the best when they have support and that is what psychology reveals to us.
6. Providing good learning environment: Students are expected to have pleasant environment. A silent and clean environment is very important for students to learn and understand. Most of places in Africa especially in Tanzania, students lack studying facilities like desk and chairs which make it difficult for them to learn.
7. Training on life skills and practical education: Since most of the graduates have proven failure, current students should be trained on life skills and practical education like vocational skills, communication skills, socialization, entrepreneurship, financial management and risk management. This will help them to have self confidence and have ability to taclke difficulties without depending on others.
8. Use of role models and mentorship programs: Young people are inspired by those they admire. Inviting professionals, local heroes and successful students to share their stories will act as the catalyst to these youths and children. This shows youth the value of hard-work and impact education have to their lives.

  Promoting education to children and youth goes beyond the studies in the classroom. It requires holistic approach involving communities, schools, families and technology. By investing in quality education, encouraging creativity, ensuring no one is left behind, we can empower the next generation and build the better future for themselves and the world.
